Me, Earl and The Dying Girl

First of all, I want to introduce new content on the blog, which is going to be based on film reviews. If I avoid being lazy I'll probably upload some more reviews, including books, comics, TV shows and so on. I hope you enjoy it, guys! And if you don't, you know where the 'Escape' button is.

Let's go!

Oh, by the way, no more spoilers than the ones seen in the trailer will be shown in the post.
So, *SPOILER FREE*

The film's main character is Greg Gaines, a youngster whose life is made up of no more than studying (sort of), making films with his (not) friend Earl and discussing things with his History teacher. The life of this weird teenager changes when he gets word that his partner, Rachel, has leukemia. Due to the continous harassment of his parents, Greg finally agrees to visit Rachel, and ends up making a film for her.
This piece of art doesn't fall into the trap of using stereotypes such as the tragedy of cancer and is delivered with a lot of comedy (from simple puns such as naming the cat Cat Stevens to a wide range of references to drug abuse and sex), and it is even able to touch the heart of the boldest and the brain of the maddest, unlike some trashy films about the same topic *ahem*The Fault in Our Stars*ahem*...
The performance is brilliant, with actors such as Hugh Jackman and Jon Bernthal. The role of each actor is excellently performed, so everyone starring in the film is like a piece of a great puzzle.
The soundtrack follows every situation of the film with magnificence, each scene is a masterpiece.

Verdict: This film is a must watch. Reccomended for anyone, from the kind of person who enjoys black humour to the sensitive ones.
Rating: 9.5/10
